Interior & Recessed Lighting

Recessed, linear, and decorative interior lighting installed to a finish-grade standard — clean ceilings and rooms that feel as good as they look.

The interior lighting of a home or workspace shapes mood, function, and how every finish is perceived more than almost any other system. We install complete interior lighting packages — recessed downlighting, cove and linear lighting, under-cabinet lighting, and decorative fixtures — and we obsess over the layout so the ceiling reads clean and the rooms feel warm.

Bad interior lighting is loud: too many cans, harsh apertures, cold color, and switches that only offer on or off. Good interior lighting is quiet. You notice the room, the art, and the people in it — not the fixtures. That is the standard we install to.

Recessed downlighting done right

Recessed lighting is the backbone of most interiors, and it is where layout discipline matters most. We plan can locations around the furniture and millwork — not on a lazy grid — keep consistent spacing off walls so washes are even, and use the smallest, most regressed aperture that does the job. The goal is a ceiling that looks intentional and uncluttered.

We specify fixtures with high CRI and tight color consistency so a row of downlights reads as one clean tone, and we put them on dimmers as a default, never as an upgrade. A recessed layout that looks effortless is the result of careful planning, not luck.

Cove, linear, and under-cabinet lighting

Hidden linear lighting is what gives a premium interior its glow. We install cove lighting that washes ceilings softly, toe-kick and stair lighting for drama and safety, and under-cabinet lighting that turns a kitchen counter into a usable, beautiful work surface. These layers are wired to their own zones so they can be dialed independently of the overhead light.

Concealment is everything with linear light. We detail the channels and reveals so you see the wash, never the LED tape or the diodes, and we match the color temperature to the rest of the room so nothing looks bolted on.

Dimming and scenes that match how you live

Interior lighting only works if it is controllable. We install quality dimmers and, where desired, scene-based controls so a room can move from bright and functional to low and warm with one tap. Kitchens, primary suites, and great rooms especially benefit from a few well-tuned scenes.

We commission every dimmer to eliminate flicker and buzz — pairing the right dimmer to the right driver is a craft detail that cheap installs skip, and it is the difference between lighting that feels luxurious and lighting that feels nervous.

Our process

01

Layout planning

We lay out fixtures around your furniture plan and millwork, confirm spacing and aiming, and mark the ceiling.

02

Install & conceal

We install housings, linear channels, and decorative fixtures, detailing every reveal so sources stay hidden.

03

Dim & tune

We pair dimmers to drivers, eliminate flicker, set color, and tune scenes to how you use each room.

Frequently asked questions

How many recessed lights does a room need?

Fewer than most people think. We size the layout to the room’s function and ceiling height rather than filling a grid — often a handful of well-placed downlights plus a layer of accent or cove light outperforms a dozen cans.

Why do my LED lights flicker on dimmers?

Almost always a mismatch between the dimmer and the LED driver. We select compatible pairings and commission each circuit so dimming is smooth and silent from full bright to a low warm glow.

Can you add cove or under-cabinet lighting to an existing home?

Yes — these are some of our most popular retrofits. We conceal the channels and fish the wiring with minimal disruption to your existing finishes.
