Z&J Architectural Lighting was founded on a simple conviction: lighting deserves to be treated as a craft, not an afterthought. Too many homes and businesses across the metroplex are lit by a lazy grid of recessed cans with no relationship to the architecture, the furniture, or the way people actually live. We exist to do it right.

We are an architectural lighting and electrical subcontractor serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and North Texas. Our work spans the full scope — interior, exterior, and landscape lighting, plus electrical rough-in, trim-out, new-construction packages, and commercial subcontracting. Because we carry both the electrical and the lighting, we design the lighting into the rough-in rather than bolting it on at the end, and one accountable partner owns the entire system from slab to scene.

What sets our work apart is a relentless attention to the details most people never consciously notice: one warm, consistent color temperature throughout a space; high-CRI sources so wood, stone, and skin read true; hidden light sources and careful glare control; and accent light that reveals texture instead of flattening it. On the electrical side, we wire to current code, document and label our work, and aim for a first-pass inspection every time — because a reliable sub is one of the biggest levers on a build staying on schedule.
